Contraindications

Never take DIAMENIL V:
• If you are allergic to vildagliptin, metformin, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in the "COMPOSITION" section of the package leaflet). If you think you might be allergic to any of these ingredients, consult your doctor before taking DIAMENIL V;
• If you have or have had serious complications from your diabetes, such as diabetic ketoacidosis (a diabetes complication involving rapid weight loss, nausea, and/or vomiting) or a diabetic coma;
• If you have recently had a heart attack, or if you have heart failure, severe circulatory problems, or breathing difficulties that could be a sign of heart problems;
• If you have kidney problems;
• If you have a severe infection or are severely dehydrated (if you have lost a large amount of fluid from your body);
• If you are due to undergo an X-ray examination involving a contrast agent (a specific type of X-ray involving the injection of a contrast medium). See also the information in the "Warnings and precautions" section;
• If you have liver problems;
• If you consume excessive amounts of alcohol (either daily or occasionally);
• If you are breastfeeding (see also "Pregnancy and breastfeeding").
