Rosuvastatin

Indicated for high cholesterol levels or in the presence of other factors that increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, or associated health problems; these three risks can be caused by atherosclerosis.

  • Contraindications

    If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, contact him or her before taking this medication. This medication is not recommended for patients with galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption (rare hereditary disorders).

    Never take LODAL:

    • If you are allergic to rosuvastatin or any of the other ingredients in this product.

    • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, stop taking this medication immediately and notify your doctor; you should use appropriate birth control to prevent pregnancy while taking LODAL.

    • If you currently have liver problems.

    • If you have severe kidney problems (if you are unsure, ask your doctor).

    • If you have muscle disorders known as myopathy (recurrent or unexplained muscle pain).

    • If you are taking cyclosporine (used, for example, after organ transplants).
