Contraindications

Never take FERMET if you:

• Are allergic to tadalafil or any of the other ingredients in this medication listed in the “COMPOSITION” section of the package insert.

• Are taking any form of nitrates, such as amyl nitrite, used to treat angina. FERMET has been shown to increase the effects of these medications. If you are taking nitrates in any form or if you have any doubts, tell your doctor.

• If you have ever experienced vision loss—a condition sometimes described as “ocular vascular accidents” (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy—NAION).

• If you have severe heart disease or have had a heart attack within the last 3 months.

• If you have low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure.

• If you have had a stroke within the last 6 months.

• If you are taking riociguat. This medication is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (that is, high blood pressure in the lungs) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (i.e., high blood pressure in the lungs caused by blood clots). PDE-5 inhibitors such as FERMET have been shown to increase the blood-pressure-lowering effect of this medication. If you are taking riociguat or are unsure, tell your doctor.
